Well, we’re back - our first show served up from our new home here at VegasGangPodcast.com!
This show was a lot of fun for everyone I think - we were lucky enough to be joined part way through by Christina Binkley, author of ‘Winner Takes All’, a recently published account of the Las Vegas deal-making that has dominated the past few years.
Make sure you are subscribed to our new podcast feed, linked in the upper right. Also, the book is available below:
Winner Takes All: Steve Wynn, Kirk Kerkorian, Gary Loveman, and the Race to Own Las Vegas

Best roundtable yet - Christina’s contributions sold me on her book - it’s a must read soon.
I loved the fact that people talked about the Cosmopolitan - it gets overlooked it seems because of all the “mega” projects and the other “mega” personalities in Las Vegas.
One thing about the fact that The Cosmo is considered an oddity because it occupies a mere 9.5 acre “sliver” between City Center and Bellagio. The original piece of nearly 3 city blocks of midtown Manhattan that were developed into Rockefeller Center was about 22 acres - not much more than twice the size of the Cosmopolitan property. The Rockefellers spent years buying out leases on buildings they owned and dealing with dilapidated speakeasies and small whoring properties on land that had been neglected and allowed to run down for decades. New Yorkers smirked that the teetoling Baptist Rockefellers were the largest owners of taverns in America. Many owners of small pieces of land between 5th and 6th Ave. and between 49th and 54th St. in Manhattan were clicking their wine glasses once it was apparent that the Rockefellers wanted the land under their buildings.
I had read that condos facing north with views of the Bellagio fountains were selling ( at least last year ) for $100 K more than south facing condos.
Glad to see there’s new web site for this rountable and the “tradition” will continue.
